What We Believe

Christ Reformed Church adheres to the teachings of the Old and New Testaments as explained in the creeds of historic Protestantism. These can be found in documents such as the Apostles’ Creed, the Westminster Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, the Thirty-nine Articles of the Church of England, and dozens of others. We hold the Bible to be God’s inspired Word and our sole authority for faith and practice. We believe that in His infinite kindness, God leads us continually to repent of our sin and believe the Gospel of His grace for our salvation, and that His Spirit produces love in our hearts for God, for each other, and for the world.

How We Operate

Christ Reformed Church is a fellowship of laypeople called by God to corporate worship. Decisions on policy and doctrine are made by a rule of consensus among the signatories to the church covenant, which was drafted in November 2018 and binds us to share the responsibility of meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the church as joints and ligaments supply the needs of a body (Eph. 4:16).

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
